Honor Roll: Honorees with Influenza Vaccination Mandates

Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg, Idaho has joined Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise to become the 2nd hospital in Idaho to be on the Immunization Action Coalition's Honor Roll for supporting influenza vaccination among its health care workers in order to protect patients. There are also two medical groups in Idaho on the honor roll, the Primary Health Medical Group in Meridian and the Saltzer Medical Group in Nampa, Idaho.

"We firmly believe that vaccinating our health care team helps provide a safe, healing environment for our patients " said Tom Heston, MD, the Chief of Staff at Shoshone Medical Center.

The Immunization Action Coalition (IAC) works to increase immunization rates and prevent disease
by creating and distributing educational materials for health professionals and the public that enhance the delivery of safe and effective immunization services. For more than a decade, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has worked in concert with and provided financial support to IAC for the purpose of educating health professionals about U.S. vaccine recommendations.

By receiving this designation on the Honor Roll, Shoshone Medical Center has been recognized for its dedication to the community it serves and the staff that provide quality care.
